Smart lock-down adopted to reduce pain of downtrodden

QUETTA: Spokesperson for the Government of Balochistan Liaqat Shahwani has said that Government moved from a complete to a smart lockdown because around 1.3 million people are unable to support sustenance of their families.

He said however, the trade fraternity has cooperated and would continue to cooperate by ensuring precautionary measures, adding that action would be taken against people in the overcrowded markets.

He however lamented that during lockdown the traders continued playing hide and seek with the government by keeping half shutter of shops, adding even now action will be taken against such shop owners where a crowd of more than four people is witnessed.

He further said that the total cases reported today were 33 and the tally of the provincial has reached 1909, adding that 963 people had been kept in quarantine in 14 district. He said that ration was distributed among as many as 159000 families.
